North Minneapolis Food Systems (Closed)

​We are no longer accepting proposals for the North Minneapolis Food Systems initiative. This RFP closed on October 17, 2016.

GTCUW will invest in innovative food systems projects in North Minneapolis that build the capacity and support for the community to implement long-term, sustainable solutions that build a food secure community.

Partnerships and collaborations, including public-private, grass-roots and cross-sector, partnerships are encouraged to apply. Applicant organizations must be a 501c3 non-profit organization or public entity (e.g., school district, unit of local government such as library, park, etc.). If awarded, the applicant organization could then sub-grant or sub-contract to other members of the partnership/collaboration as appropriate.

This funding opportunity is specifically focused on building long-term, sustainable food systems solutions in North Minneapolis. Emergency food efforts such as food shelves, food banks and meal programs are an important component of the food system and in addressing food security and may be eligible to apply should there be specific and strong emphasis on a range of strategies that are long-term and sustainable in their approach.
